PROPOSED ORGANIZATION CHART FOR MAC
Goal: Involvement of more parent volunteers.
Proposal:
I. Officers
Chair:
- Conduct membership and Board meetings
- Carry out the advocacy role
- Appoint the ad hoc sub committees
- Appoint the directors of standing committees
- Direct functioning of the committee
- Oversee the ad hoc and standing subcommittees
- Liaison with Administration, teachers, PTA and Parents/Guardians
Vice Chair
- Stand in for the Chair when the Chair is absent
- Develop the agenda for the membership meetings
- Publish a monthly newsletter (Periscope)
- Coordinate volunteers
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Chair
Secretary
- Maintain, post and distribute minutes of membership meetings
- Prepare and give notice of membership meetings
- Maintain Committee records
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Chair
Treasurer
- Collect, deposit, manage and disperse Committee funds as authorized
- Present an annual budget to the membership for approval
- Report on the Financial Status of the Committee at each regular membership meeting
- Submit a final financial report at the end of each fiscal year (September)
- Coordinate the Fund Drive and send out thank you letters
- Manage escript
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Chair
II. Standing Subcommittees
- Nominating: Runs elections under Article V.
- Materials, Teacher Training and Parent Education: Orders, distributes and tracks materials and classroom supplies; assists with arranging teacher training; organizes parent workshops and lectures.
- Promotion: Organizes parent tours and open houses; assists administration with Alternative School Fair; Updates and prepares school brochures, posters and other promotional material; assists administration with mailings.
- Directory: Prepares and distributes a student directory in October each year.
- Fund Raising: Oversees the event coordinators.
