Denali Camp Fire USA

The Denali before-school Camp Fire program starts at 7:00am and ends at 9:00am. Breakfast is available until 8:30 along with an assortment of activities including quiet games, arts and crafts, and reading. There is an organized activity available in the gym after 8:00. Everyone helps clean up at 8:25, and we go outside from 8:30 until 8:50. At that time, we make sure that all the students are in their appropriate lines and waiting for their teachers.

After school, students come to the Multi-Purpose Room and sign in so we can account for each child. From 3:30 until 4:10 students can eat snack, go to the gym, or do homework. At 4:10 we have circle time when the kids ask questions, share thoughts and learn about the day’s activities. Monday through Wednesday, students break up into groups and participate in planned activities. On Thursdays students choose from a selection of “interest centers”, and on Fridays there are full-group structured activities. Around 5:00 we begin a structured free time, and this continues until cleanup at 5:50. The program ends at 6:00pm.

We offer many activities for kids, and their safety is our #1 priority. Our phone number at Denali during program hours (7-8:25am)(3-6pm) is 907-276-0300. For enrollment and waiting list information, please contact the Camp Fire Alaska Council office at 907-279-3551.

Camp Fire also offers full day licensed child care throughout the summer in addition to two summer camping programs.
